This 7th BG aircraft went MIA Mar. 24, 1945, with another crew, 4 of whom perished in an air accident (3 of them still are MIA). Tail displays serial number & hand-painted "28," an indicator of plane's recent arrival to the squadron. Registration Info: USAAF Serial# 44-49607 History: Aircraft was fabricated at Ford/Willow Run, MI, accepted Oct. 10, 1944, delivered Oct. 12 to Douglas/Tulsa, OK, for field modification, received Nov. 15 at Hamilton Field, CA, received Dec. 6 at Grenier Field, NH, departed Grenier & U.S. Dec. 11, received Dec. 29 at Karachi, India.
