B17G--70-VE PY-M Location: Unknown Photographer: Unknown Registration Info: USAAF Serial# 44-8577 History: 325 BS, 92 BG , during a major raid with Swinemünde as 1 of the main targets only 1 of over 1300 airplanes was missing. 44-8577 with pilot 2/Lt N.D Ringsred was seen dropping the bombload with closed bombhatches. On radio the crew reported that they feather engine 1 and that engine 2 was running rough. The airplane was seen turning towards Sweden. Swedish fighters escorted 44-8577 from Vellinge to Bulltofta were they landed at 15.40, 12 Mars 1945 The crew of 10 was interned for a few weeks in Falun.
